I. Exploring Wellness in Yoga, Addiction, and Personal Growth
Hello Dear Readers & Network,
Living Your Yoga
A story included in audio text, for this new Living Your Yoga series!
Timing is irrelevant, so save for when you have the headspace for it. Here, I share the introductory point when meeting me as a yoga teacher, or when people ask about my why behind. I also address addiction, body awareness, digital health, & provide insight to support our mental health.
Topics relevant for anyone to hear, especially now. A compilation of basic prevailing principles behind the practice I'm teaching, to individuals & collectively.
Spotlight on the teacher
As a confirmed black sheep, I remain autonomous in my teachings.
While I am proud of the small network I operate within, I also follow diverse instructors from various nationalities and backgrounds. My teachings are influenced by a grab bag of ashtanga principles from the ancient texts I write about in my publications.
My first ‘real yoga teacher’ was Judith Hanson Lasaster. I share about her here and here, and more of my own teachings, influenced by her, can be found here.
Her daughter Lizzie, a mother nearly my age, teaches from Vienna and often is in Holland for trainings. She has a relaxing visual newsletter on this platform which is
. I attend various online and face-to-face workshops with her, and happy to find a tribe in the credentialed network of international yoga teachers. What’s in it for YOU!
Many clients come to me with symptoms of burn out. Which I explain are often symptoms from our current environments in this late stage of capitalism we are living through. Our bodies are learning to adapt and evolve to this new norm.
Today, I leave you with a place to start for anyone wanting to learn to cultivate a relationship with yoga. It begins with a book review over the first yoga book I read (click on inserted article below), and ends with the audio text (found above).
A guided meditation in form of a body scan available for anyone is graciously extended at the end too!
Take what works, leave the rest.
