Newsletter: Zen and the Art of Ego-Busting
VIII. Refusing the toe the line & other transformative rebirthing moments and oh hey, 'Writer's World' is coming up!
Good FriYay Y’allemaal
For this week's Newsletter, I include more samples of my publishings, like this one - where I cover the astrology report for November.
Hello Dear Readers, Friends, New Subscribers I don’t know personally, nice to greet you here.
These past weeks have been intense. Whether you want to believe there are cosmic energies working for, or against us, it is clear to most that there are evil forces working against our species in the form of powerful humans in the world wishing to spread hate and destruction as a collective means to an end.Â
We don't need a crystal ball to gaze into a future of what of WW3 looks like under the microscope of the 'World Wide Web' where 'everyone is an actor' and the 'world is a stage'.
In this digital age, spending just a few minutes scrolling through headlines can significantly impact our mental health, leaving us overwhelmed by stories of conflict and despair.
The stories of war, and my strong disdain for the people that feel these things are necessary, are topics that usually are not addressed in a yogic community. But if for only to say these things are falsely driven self-created realities from disillusioned egos.Â
Over the past month, I've turned to my senior yoga teachers discovering a recurring theme: the importance of embracing neutrality. They advocate pausing, being still, reflecting, and finding inner stillness. It's a call to cease our incessant existence in the chaos of the external world.
Naturally, my initial reaction was, "Is this all they have to offer?" Where is the action to dismantle the oppressive forces one step at a time?
Are we expected to meditate on our Amazon-bought & delivered cushions wishing the bad guys away?
Well, in a way, that's precisely what meditation represents. The ultimate goal is neutralising the ego, eradicating the fertile ground for hate, greed, and control over others. It's a lifelong process that requires dedication and practice. But how do we confront and remove those who perpetuate harm?
When methods like flower power and chants seem inadequate, we must explore new strategies or remain steadfast in those that have proven effective. Though, are we doing this?
Moreover, it's crucial that we stop supporting corporate giants like Amazon, which contribute to the excessive wealth of the top echelon of the world's billionaires. In fact, we should challenge the entire top 20% of those who promote unsustainable hyper-capitalism, urging for a fairer and more equitable world. Are you doing this?
This is why we learn the basics of meditation, breathwork, & yoga - easing our own mental aliments while setting better example to others. Like this guy has done while working with me over the last year…
Come Client with Me
A client, Daniel living in civilised Western Europe, shared a story from this week, where his Jewish children were put into a threatening social situation in Amsterdam.
His teenagers were expected to watch the beheadings of Jewish children offered from other teens. These are kids y’all. Why are kids lacking general empathy towards others while sharing an opinion that harms another? This sh*t doesn’t stop without treating the generational trauma people continue to suffer from.
Over the last year in working with Daniel, we've covered much in the topic of setting boundaries with self/others. I'm also grateful to have been a student as much as a teacher!Â
He's a Pisces, a water sign with stronger air elements in other parts of his chart. Leaving him needing much space to talk through his feelings and clear his head.
Though a gift of a water sign is that the fish, scorpio and crab, can innately speak in forms of telepathy with others, this also means they absorb collective pain as well.Â
In our work, he has learned incorporating mindfulness practices into his lifestyle. Learning to pause, slow down, use reflection time, take solitude and give space to others. Traits we all can benefit from, that I implemented during my own burn out learnings.
"You're producing a lot of content! I can't keep up!"
That’s right. I’m birthing the baby of publishing a book! It’s been a long gestational period and I'm just here hitting interactive writing goals. Please take what resonates, leave the rest.
Hopefully, my efforts inspire transformative efforts for others, as that too, is a big part of my backstory. Click below for that essay, inclusive innovative podcast.
Before you go…
While working for a large international firm in one of the world’s most dynamic industries, I often curated ‘Getting-To-Know-You’ meetings for my colleagues.
These moments came in helpful during the onboarding process for new staff to acclimate with, while also offering a moment for existing staff to remember what it’s like to be new.Â
This is a practice I continue in my current operating standards: where you can book time getting-to-know-me here.
You can also find me over in Delft, where I continue to teach on Monday nights at 20.30 -21.30 CET. New workshops in the works. Stay tuned!
Lastly, Writer's World is happening online on Sunday, 12 November. The teaser and context is found to the article linked above and welcome my lady friends interested in networking and share your projects to join me there!
Happy to receive you here in the NOW.
Namaste xx
