Prepared for the Launch
After the last two years of sitting around staring at walls (aka meditating), I reabsorbed the literature I studied at the turn of the century when I was a cool, yet incredibly broke, hippy sitting around staring at walls.
Part of my future plans involved going back to teaching yoga which meant during the time of the pandemic, I dove into studies with my previous teachers.
My network is global in the yoga community and not limited to any one brand, style or influence. It falls under Hatha yoga for me but I keep to the basics of the Ashtanga principles I am certified with.
In 2021, I enrolled in various continuing education workshops to dust off my former knowledge of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the basic principles I was originally trained with.
I had read an ample amount of ancient text deep into 5000 year old principles of yoga philosophies so while we went indoors, I buried my nose in old books I unearthed from my past.
Much reading was assigned during my trainings I required for Yoga Alliance certifications but my young, immature brain did not truly absorb much of the technical details I found myself needing for my current yoga journey.
Thankfully, two decades later, my more emotionally mature brain was able to process this information and reignite a former passion.
Studying ancient texts for me doesn’t come easy and I will forever require mentors to help for translation. Am grateful for current teachers and their down-to-earth approach in tackling these interpretations within our modern day calamities.
Some of my favourite teachers I follow online. The realities of the current virtual existence now has made access to those I once cherished in gathering my fundamentals much closer. I will be forever in debt to these teachers!
